Christina Horn ~ Mobile Nail Expert!

This week’s S’Hero is Christina Horn! I first met Christina as the big sister of one of my students and then the auntie of the next generation. She has a gift for making individuals feel relaxed and pampered. Her tender heart and always engaging communication style is a breath of fresh air in this hurry up world! Her ready smile, and easy manner takes the hustle and frantic out of a room just by her showing up.

Her heart to serve others and her committed work ethics makes her an outstanding business owner. Her mobile nail service serves those who would like to be pampered but can’t get out or don’t have the time to, and her costs are affordable and very doable. She desires to serve the new mom, the busy working woman, women’s pamper parties, princess parties, prom preps, and our honored senior citizens who might not otherwise get their nails done. She’s an expert with troubled feet (diabetes and low circulation) and abused nails. My 80 year old neighbor looked forward to her visits every month! And while she’s in our neck of the woods, I get my nails done sitting in my own recliner at home!

As a graduate of my Build Your Own Opportunities Entrepreneur Training Program, she took her talents on the road to become self-employed immediately gaining 45% more of her income. But more than that, she is in control of her schedule and finally has time to spend with her family and go to lunch with friends! She tells anyone that will listen, “If I can do this, anyone can!” Our hats off to Christina–one strong woman answering her heart’s call!

**I’ll share a secret! Christina and her husband had a great desire to complete their family with a child. Once she removed the stress of working for others and stepped into her own business and serving God with her gifting, she became pregnant! Coincidence–WE DON’T THINK SO!

More Than Nails Mobile Nail Service by Chrissy Horn!

1) What exactly is your business and what made you get started?

I run a mobile nail service called More Than Nails. I started thinking about all the people who can’t get out of their houses or can’t afford to feel beautiful going to a traditional brick and mortar salon. So I took my business on the road!

2) What one thing do you do every day to move yourself forward and stay focused? Where do you find your inspiration?

I look at faces, they remind me I have a lot of people left to love here on earth.

3) What do you do regularly to take care of yourself?

I actually am looking forward to taking care of myself. Exercise and family adventures are my new thing I do for myself. I’m working at taking time to feel and be happy every day now that I own my business and decide the schedule!

4) How do you keep yourself emotionally balanced while you are pushing forward?

I seek God and His advice.

5) What’s the best part and the worst part of your job?

The worst part is that I’ve sat at a desk or a pedicure chair for ten years and now the best part is being mobile, planning ahead and serving those that might not otherwise be.

6) What failure taught you the most and what was it?

I don’t necessarily call it failure, I call it lessons. Too often I always followed what others said, I failed to branch out and use my wings God has given to me.

7) If you had to do something different, what would that be?

I would have changed career paths earlier. Being a shy kid has carried over into my adult life and unfortunately is used as a crutch. I am so excited for this new adventure in making women feel beautiful.

8) If you had advice to give to someone else who was thinking of becoming an entrepreneur, what would that be?

Jump! Do it now! Don’t Wait…You Can Do This!

9) What did you have to overcome personally to be able to do what you do?

Fear. It is a crippling device that the devil uses to keep us under his thumb. No More! This girl has work to do!

10) Any last parting words?

Last but certainly not least, we need to remember “All women deserve to feel beautiful” because we ARE—inside and out!
