“Wisdom comes from making mistakes,

Having the courage to face them,

And make adjustments moving forward

based upon the knowledge acquired through those experiences.” ~ Ken Poirot

Recognizing when others do not have or embrace wisdom will save frustration as well as color our method of imparting wisdom. When a person lacks wisdom, it can often be like explaining a retirement plan to a kindergartener; it’s useless and inappropriate.

Accessing why a person lacks wisdom can be valuable for understanding their

life-experience, their maturity, or perhaps a narcissistic trait.

Here’s a few ways to recognize those who lack wisdom:

  • They create controversies.
  • They’re quickly broken beyond healing.
  • Lying comes easily to them.
  • They’re often involved in some kind of trouble.
  • They think they’re smarter/better than others.
  • The are the source of conflict within a family.
  • They don’t seek others’ advice.
  • They don’t know what they stand for, so they are often easily influenced by multiple opinions or they simply repeat things they’ve heard without researching the truth.
  • They often have lost their positive spirit and childlike wonder.

A person lacking wisdom is:

“Who, with perversion in his heart, continually devises evil, Who spreads strife.

15 Therefore his disaster will come suddenly;

Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing. 16 There are six things that the Lord hates, Seven that are an abomination to Him:

17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,

19 A false witness who declares lies,

And one who spreads strife among brothers.” ~Proverbs 6:14-19

Pick Up Your Sword:

  1. “Who plots evil with deceit in his heart—he always stirs up conflict. Therefore, disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy. There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”  ~ Proverbs 6:14-19 What can we learn from Proverbs 6:14-19?

  • “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace…”

~ Proverbs 3:13-18
