Uncluttered Finances Badass Women’s Money
Finances: Are you stressed about money? If so, I know how incredibly difficult it is to turn that worry off. I’ve learned to compartmentalize money concerns. I allow myself specific times of the day Monday-Thursday to worry about bills, income, outgo, etc. I also start the thinking process at 9 am and end it at 4 pm…no matter how bad the situation feels like.
Worrying more hours or days will not solve the problem, but will cause us to miss the life we have outside of financial concerns. We still need to wash laundry, feed ourselves, build and enjoy relationships and live our lives. I suggest we do these things with a gusto regardless of how much money we make or owe.
Easy to say? It is but if we allow money worries to consume our thinking, we rob our souls of opportunities to build an abundant life. And don’t you think that’s what Satan wants? Sure it is! If we are stressed all the time, and he can rob relationships, sleep, energy levels and joy, we have nothing left to focus on the eternal joy promised to us.
Every time we give the enemy rein or footing in our lives, we lose that much time and opportunity to influence others and ourselves toward Christlike peace…and we end up staring at the ceiling rather than resting. Warriors need rest for the battles we face, don’t lose a war because of a skirmish. I often turn my financial concerns to the Lord by saying, “You are the Lord of my life, you have debts to pay. I’ll stop worrying and watch you pay them.”
I’m not by any means suggesting you run up a credit card bill and wait for God to pay it. He can and he enjoys blessing us when we trust Him. But we’ve been given instructions on how to handle our money, we need to obey those directions to prove ourselves worthy of more. We need to be good stewards of our funds and possessions and learn to ‘want’ less.
If you’re in over your head currently, take time to step away from the pressure, clear your head, pray, and memorize one or all of these scriptures:
Philippians 4:19 19 And my God will supply [a]all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds in the sky. They don’t sow seed or harvest grain or gather crops into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are? 27 Who among you by worrying can add a single moment to your life? 28 And why do you worry about clothes? Notice how the lilies in the field grow. They don’t wear themselves out with work, and they don’t spin cloth. 29 But I say to you that even Solomon in all of his splendor wasn’t dressed like one of these. 30 If God dresses grass in the field so beautifully, even though it’s alive today and tomorrow it’s thrown into the furnace, won’t God do much more for you, you people of weak faith? 31 Therefore, don’t worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 Gentiles long for all these things. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 Instead, desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
