Praying Dangerous Prayers!

The Power of Dangerous Prayers

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,  you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’  and it will move.

Nothing will be impossible for you.” ~Matthew 17:20

Designed by our maker to be passionate, powerful women, why would we settle

for mediocre or safe lives? We were not created for a life of comfort but are designed to be world changers, warriors, leaders, and teachers.

The Badass women of the Bible prayed for all kinds of things: to conceive babies,

for food and shelter, to win battles, escape enemies and to discern truths.

They were bold, vulnerable, understood their strengths and who to align themselves with. They were often broken-hearted, and prayed in whispers, sobs or demands. Faith taught them they couldn’t do everything, but they knew who could.

Be careful not to let our prayers be repetitive, dull, boring, rote, or thoughtless. That’s like praying in a rut. Do you want more? It’s time to pray, “Lord, change me into the kind of woman that could change the world. The kind that history or the world will remember because of good. The kind that if the Bible were written today, I would be included in it.”

Let’s start praying life changing, daring warrior leadership prayers that transform

lives, communities and families.

Be aware though, when you pray daring prayers, you may experience desert

times, attacks, trials, pain, and hardships. When you take a bold step out for Christ, you become an enemy to the enemy. You put a target on your back, but we know who has the power to win the battles! When you pray safe prayers, you are no threat to the enemy.

Badass prayers bring about change that runs counter to the enemy’s plans and glorifies God’s. They inspire others to put on armor and fight too. When you pray setting an example, not only will you change, but the crowd of witnesses may just stop watching and pick up their swords to fight.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. ~Philippians 4:13

Praying Dangerous Prayers

Dreams stay elusive when we lock them away. Safe behind locked doors

requests won’t risk failure, and no one can criticize or challenge our dreams or prayer requests.

Staying in our comfort zone means just that, we will remain comfortable. It’s

familiar. In this space, there is no anxiety and no risk. We do not have to be vulnerable, and we can continue to pretend we are in control. The downside is that our dreams stay dreams without a chance of becoming a reality.

But if for a moment we move away from our ‘safe’ place and risk failing, feeling

unsettled, or vulnerable, we may breathe the breath of life into our prayers and open entirely different opportunities. Opening the door is the starting point.

Pray. If you cannot pray about something or don’t want to pray, try asking, “God make me want to want this.”

Pray arrow prayers. Don’t have time to pray? God doesn’t care if you spend 10

seconds or 10 hours talking to Him. He delights in us bringing all our concerns and requests to Him. Arrow prayers are short, sweet, in the moment prayers. They’re quick but just as effective as long lengthy requests. I often pray over Facebook requests right then by saying, “Lord, I don’t know all their needs, please hold them in your righteous right hand and answer their request.” Simply including God in our daily needs is more important to Him than the length of the prayer.

Rewrite Scripture: Another tip for praying when you don’t know what to say is to

rewrite scripture using the person’s name.

For example: Philippians 1:3-6

3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always offering prayer with joy

in my every prayer for you all, 5 in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.”

Rewrite it like this:

3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of Karen, 4 always offering prayer with

joy in my every prayer for Karen, 5 in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in Karen will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.

Pick Up Your Sword:

  1. What if you ask God to build your faith and to trust him for the outcome? What might happen? Too often we don’t include God in our plans. He said to ask. I believe He sits with us daily wanting to hand us a life of abundance, yet we don’t ask. Ask!
